Dance Classes:

Pre-School Programs:

We offer our Sparkle/Comet Program to all of our Pre-School & Kindergarten Kids. We have spent time designing a program to match the needs and desires of your little one while still giving them the dance basics that they will need later in dance.

Littles.PNG

Glimmer Sparkles: (2years-3.5 years old) 30 min class teaching them the Basic Tap & Ballet with flavors of Jazz. We begin to transfer basic knowledge of movements into basic knowledge of dance along with working through class room etiquette.

Dazzle Sparkles: (3.5- Kindergarten) 30 min class teaching them Basic Tap, Ballet, & Jazz. We are moving the knowledge they should already know about movement and directly relating it to dance, the classroom, and start applying it to technique. They should be able to start using the correct terminology of the movements and be able to execute most of them by themselves. They should also already have a good grasp of classroom etiquette.

They should have a general idea of the basic body parts and have a good grasp on classroom etiquette.

Ballroom.PNG

Latin/ Rhythm Style Dances:

American/ International Cha Cha: a ballroom dance with small steps and swaying hip movements, performed to a Latin American rhythm. Would remind you of club dancing.

American/ International Rumba: a rhythmic, romantic dance with Spanish and African elements, originating in Cuba.

American East Coast Swing: is a form of social partner dance. It belongs to the group of swing dances. It is danced under fast swing music, including rock and roll and boogie-woogie.

American/International Samba: is a lively, rhythmical dance of Afro-Brazilian origin in 2/4(2 by 4) time danced to Samba music whose origins include the Maxixe. A very difficult "club-like style" dance.

American Bolero: is a genre of slow-tempo Latin music and its associated dance. There are Spanish and Cuban forms which are both significant and which have separate origins. In all its forms, the bolero has been popular for over a century. Has the feel of a mix between the Latin styles and the Smooth/Standard Styles.

American Mambo: a ballroom dance of Cuban origin that resembles the rumba and the cha-cha. High Energy and flirtatious.

International Paso Doble: It is modelled after the sound, drama, and movement of the Spanish and Portuguese bullfight. The traditional version as couple's dance originated in France and was then adopted in Spain and Portugal.

International Jive: In latin dancing, the jive is a dance style that originated in the United States from African-Americans in the early 1930s. It was popularized in 1934 by Cab Calloway. It is a lively and uninhibited variation of the Jitterbug, a form of Swing dance. It is also know as the "Running Dance."

Smooth/ Standard Style Dances:

American/ International Waltz: is a ballroom and folk dance, normally in triple time, performed primarily in closed position. Graceful, Elegant, and romantic- This is the ballet of the Ballroom.

American/ International Foxtrot: is a smooth, progressive dance characterized by long, continuous flowing movements across the dance floor. It is danced to big band (usually vocal) music. The dance is similar in its look to waltz, although the rhythm is in a 4. A fun, whimsical but graceful dance.

American/International Tangois a partner dance that originated in the 1880s along the River Plate, the natural border between Argentina and Uruguay, and soon spread to the rest of the world. Early tango was known as tango criollo (Creole tango). Generally you see the the "love-hate" relationship between the partnered dancers in this style.

International Quick Step: is a light-hearted member of the standard ballroom dances. The movement of the dance is fast and powerfully flowing and sprinkled with syncopations. The upbeat melodies that quickstep is danced to make it suitable for both formal and informal events. It is a quick, (shocker, right?) up-beat fun dance typically held in hold throughout the dance.

American/ International Viennese Waltz: Is the genre of a ballroom dance. At least three different meanings are recognized and it was the first ballroom dance performed in the closed hold or "waltz" position. It has the flow and grace of the traditional waltz without as many rules and regulations. (It is to Waltz as  Contemporary is to Ballet)

Club & Country Style Dances:

Night Club Two Step: The dance is also known as "Two Step" and was "one of the most popular forms of contemporary social dance" as a Disco Couples Dance in 1978. It is frequently danced to mid-tempo ballads in 4/4 time that have a characteristic quick-quick-slow beat. A classic example is the song Lady In Red.

Hustle:  is a catchall name for some disco dances which were extremely popular in the 1970s. Today it mostly refers to the unique partner dance done in ballrooms and nightclubs to disco music. It has some features in common with swing dance.

Cha Cha: a quicker dance with small steps and swaying hip movements, performed to a Latin American rhythm.
